HOO Fillers

Hyaluronic Acid is a natural occurring substance that is already found in your skin and helps keep the skin plump. HA fillers are typically soft and gel-like, and most are infused with lidocaine to help minimize discomfort during and after treatment. It’s a type of HA filler that is especially designed to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Some of the FDA approved HA fillers include the following:
  • Juvéderm products (Juvéderm, Voluma, Volbella, Volift, Volite)
  • Restylane products (Restylane, Restylane Silk, Restylane Lyft, Restylane Refyne, Restylane Defyne, Restylane Kysee, Restylane Contour), Restylane Vital, Retyline Vital Lite
  • Belotero Balance, Belotero Volume, Belotero Soft
HA is actually made of sugar which, unlike other anti-aging injections, exists in the skin and is a key component in the skin’s ability to retain water for a hydrated complexion. When injected into the skin, the fillers attract more water. As a matter of fact, it can hold up to 1,000 times its weight. This leads to naturally plump skin, which is why HA fillers are more commonly used for the face.

IS HOO FILLER SAFE?

The different areas of the face are often the ones treated with fillers. This can be considered a medium risk procedure because of all the important arteries in those areas. But the risks are significantly lowered if you choose to get it done at HOO Dermatology – a place filled with professional doctors that have the right training a wealth of experience, and appropriate qualifications – to make this procedure safe and effective for all patients.

It’s also very important that you talk with your doctor beforehand about your medical history, any conditions that you might have, or any medications that you’re taking in order to ensure the safety of the treatment.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A HOO FILLER TREATMENT?

HOO Fillers are injected through a needle or cannula to pierce the skin and deliver the fillers.

Some areas of the face, like the lips or the nose,  are more sensitive than others., That is why it’s advisable to talk to your practitioner about some pain management options if you’re concerned. However, most fillers are premixed with lidocaine, to make the area  relatively numb so you will only feel a slight discomfort and have a comfortable experience during the procedure. The whole procedure only takes about 30 minutes to about an hour, depending on the area so it will be done before you even know it!

Depending on the product and the areas treated, you should be able to notice results immediately after receiving your filler injections. Some patients experience mild bruising and swelling but these should subside over a few days so you will be able to go back to your normal activities right after treatment.

BENEFITS OF HOO FILLERS

As we age, we lose volume in key areas of our face. This results to an older appearance where folds, wrinkles, hollow temples, thinning lips, and sunken eyes are formed. HOO Fillers, however, have the capability to restore this loss, smooth out folds and wrinkles, and improve contours to achieve natural results without altering facial expressions. In addition to that, certain fillers can be used to correct scars as well.

One of the biggest benefits of fillers is skin rejuvenation. HOO Fillers can stimulate collagen production where volume is added and wrinkles are decreased. It can also be used as a preventive means to combat volume loss and fine lines that start to develop as you age. HOO Filler injections can even be used to alter and define facial features like the nose, chin and jawline, as well as for treating acne scars. In short, the face can be sculpted with a little help from the fillers.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?

There is no downtime. You can go right back to your normal routine. Considering that hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the body, the risk of adverse side effects is unlikely and if you encounter any, it should clear up within a few days of your treatment. Be that as it may, it’s still best not to schedule a filler appointment or to clear your calendar before any important events until any signs of redness, swelling and bruising have disappeared.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT

After your treatment, try not to touch the treated areas immediately as this can lead to infection or it may interfere with the placement of the filler. Drink lots of water, avoid exercise, heat and alcohol as it is known to exacerbate bruising. Additionally, steer clear of aspirin and ibuprofen for three days, as those, too, can lead to more severe bruising during the healing process. Lastly, you should wait 1 to 2 weeks before having any other aesthetic treatments.

HOW LONG DO HOO FILLERS LAST?

The effects of HOO Fillers are long lasting but not permanent. This also depends on a number of factors including the type of filler used, quantity of filler used, areas treated, and the patient’s age and lifestyle as well.

HOO Fillers tend to be the most temporary option, and therefore are often recommended for first-time patients. These will typically last from 6 to 18 months. Injections to the lips will wear out a little faster than those of the nasolabial folds. There are also certain HOO Fillers, such as the Voluma, that are formulated to last longer but are usually limited to certain areas such as the cheeks, chin and jawline.

Generally speaking, the denser the product and the more deeply it is injected, the longer it will usually last. In order to reach and maintain your desired results, your Doctor will simply repeat the treatment, and adjust the amount and technique as necessary to ensure optimal results.
