Sclerotherapy is a non-surgical procedure to get rid of varicose veins and spider veins – the small yet unsightly clusters of red, blue or purple veins that appear on the legs and ankles. Sclerotherapy uses an injection of a special chemical (sclerosant) into a varicose vein to damage and scar the inside lining of the vein. This causes the vein to close and fade or disappear.
